When We All Stayed at Home

“Overwhelmingly we see a sense of solidarity, of empathy, and strength. Time and again we hear the phrase ‘we don’t want to go back to how we were living before lockdown’. It’s a hopeful story.”

“When we all stayed at home” is a series of photographs of people from across the borough of Enfield on their doorsteps, taken during lockdown 2020. Social media generated interest in the project and people were keen to participate, taking part in interviews via WhatsApp and generally supporting the project as it evolved. The photographs have appeared in a few exhibitions: Dugdale Summer Festival August 2020, Culture Palace, Enfield February 2022, Field By Hive, Enfield May 2022. A book has also been published featuring over 100 photographs.
